Michael Snyder is the Stanford W. Ascherman Professor of Genetics at Stanford University.  His group were pioneers in undertaking large-scale functional genomics projects across organisms, developing many technologies in genomics and proteomics to facilitate this. Different state-of-the-art "omics" technologies have also been combined to enable longitudinal detailed integrative personal omics profiling (iPOP) to assess disease risk and monitor disease state. He is also the cofounder of Personalis, SensOmics, Qbio, January AI, Filtricine, Mirvie, Protos, Protometrix (now part of Thermo-Fisher) and Affomix (now part of Illumina). He is also interested in science communication and authored the book 'Genomics and Personalized Medicine: What Everyone Needs to Know'.
